Welcome Euan!

30-09-23

A warm welcome to Euan Goodwin, who joins us as Organ Scholar, working with and gaining experience from both Alex and Shaun. Euan hails from Hexham, where alongside his A-level study he has been studying organ with Michael Haynes, the Abbey Organist, while becoming involved with playing for services at Hexham Abbey and accompanying the Abbey Choir. Euan has recently gained a distinction in his Grade 8 Organ and has given recitals at Hexham Abbey and Corbridge Parish Church. At Leeds Minster, he will be immersing himself in the life of the Music Department gaining further experience in choral accompaniment, liturgical organ playing and also having opportunities to direct the Minster Choir for services. It makes for a busy life alongside full-time degree studies at York University, where he will be reading Music, but an Organ Scholarship is an invaluable musical and developmental opportunity and a real opportunity to gain hands-on experience as a church musician. Welcome, Euan!
