A special Civic Service giving thanks for the Queen’s 70 years’ reign will be held at Leeds Minster this coming Sunday, June 5th, starting at 10.30am. Anyone wishing to attend will be most welcome. Admission is free.
The Right Reverend Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds, will lead the service and will preach, and the service will be attended by Civic leaders from the County, the City and the community, as we come together to give thanks and celebrate this historic event.
The music will be especially festive, featuring Mozart’s Coronation Mass, and Handel’s Coronation Anthem Zadok the Priest, which has been sung at the coronation of every British Monarch since its composition for the coronation of King George II in 1727.
