Educational visits
We are always very happy to host educational visits at the Minster, whether you are a school, nursery, college or any other group – come and learn about what Christians believe and how we worship, and find out more about the history of our building. Students who visit are always excited to explore the Minster and they leave inspired by one of the city’s most stunning buildings.
For all educational trips, visiting staff are expected to be fully responsible for the students at all times. We ask for donations as outlined below and we can provide you with an invoice on request.
We have toilets on site and, by prior arrangement, we can provide a space for the group to eat a packed lunch.
We offer two types of educational visit:
- You are welcome to bring a group to the Minster at any time during our public opening hours. These are usually 11am to 2pm, Tuesday to Saturday. However, we have some exceptional closures, so you are strongly advised to check with us in advance via the email address below. This also allows us to inform our team of welcomers so they are expecting you. We ask for a donation of between £1 and £2 per person (students plus adults).
- Supported visits – We have a team of volunteers who will be happy to talk with you ahead of your visit, to help you plan your time with us. Our volunteers are very knowledgeable about the building and the worship that goes on here, and they would love to join you on the day to show you and your students around. Supported visits may take place outside of our normal opening hours by arrangement. We ask for a donation of at least £2 per person (students plus adults).
To arrange a visit, or to ask any questions, please get in touch at contact@leedsminster.org. We look forward to welcoming you soon!
