For Leeds Light Night 2022, on 13 and 14 October, the Minster played host to the light and sound installation Breathe. Amid the bustle of Light Night, over 1000 visitors each evening were able to find a moment of gentle peace – with the art providing a calming atmosphere to rest the mind – before looking round the nave, with the altar flats lit by candlelight.
On the Thursday, over 100 people attended a Service of Light devised especially for the occasion, with music including Holy is the true Light by William Henry Harris and Hail, Gladdening Light by Charles Wood, sung by the choir.
