Congratulations to Sarah Maybury, who has been licensed as a Lay Reader at the Minster by Nick Baines, Bishop of Leeds.
Bishop Nick visited the Minster to celebrate the feast of All Saints on Sunday 5th November. In his sermon on sainthood he discussed what it means to glorify God in our lives, even in the most difficult of times, and spoke particularly of the example of Dietrich Bonhoeffer. In the same service we were blessed to have Sarah licensed as a Lay Reader. Sarah joined the congregation at the Minster last December when her husband Paul became Rector here.
The service was followed by a very convivial bring-and-share lunch, as seen below!
