Refugee Week runs from 16th-22nd June 2025. This week is the world’s largest arts & culture festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary.
Leeds Minster is currently working towards becoming a Church of Sanctuary, through the work of Revd Dr Inderjit Bhogal – a place of welcome for everyone who walks through our doors.
From 15th June, our church will host a display for Refugee Week, honouring stories of welcome, courage, and sanctuary. It shares the journeys of our Ukrainian group, the work of LASSN (Leeds Asylum Seeker Support Network), and our growing steps as a Church of Sanctuary. Many thanks to all who helped bring this together.
On Sunday 22nd June, Revd Inderjit Bhogal, a founder of City of Sanctuary (UK), will preach as part of our reflection for Refugee Week — a time to listen, remember, and hope together.
