We are pleased to announce that Ben Schrodel has been appointed to the new Assistant Caretaker role at the Minster.
He started his new role this week, and will work on a part-time basis alongside our full-time Caretaker Iain Howell.
Ben said, “The Assistant Caretaker supports the day-to-day management of the Minster building, ensuring the safety, security and comfort of all worshippers, volunteers and general visitors. I also play a role in the Minster’s busy calendar of evening events, overseeing concerts and gigs to make sure everything runs smoothly on the night.
I’m a semi-professional musician who plays in a number of bands and teaches music privately, so am delighted to be able to combine my knowledge of live music performance with practical service on the frontline of one of Leeds’ most prominent churches. It’s a privilege to work on a historic site of Christian worship which still today acts as a sanctuary for people in need.”
We hope you will join us in welcoming Ben to the team!
